Buttermilk
Molasses Pie
1/2
cup butter
2 cups
white sugar
3 tablespoons
flour
3 eggs
1 cup
buttermilk
1 teaspoon
vanilla extract
1 9-inch
pie crust
2 tablespoons
sorghum molasses
In a large
bowl, cream butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar,
and beat well. Add eggs and beat well. Add flour, buttermilk and
vanilla; beat until smooth.
Pour filling
into pie shell and bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. Reduce heat
to 350 degrees; bake for an additional 45 minutes or until set.
Cool at
room temperature, then chill. When serving, drizzle each serving
with molasses for extra flavor. Serves 8.
